The paths of founders Ryan and Jarrod first crossed during their time in high school in central Indiana. After graduation, they found themselves working together at the same company, where they specialized in detailing semi-trucks. Although their time there was short-lived, both Ryan and Jarrod continued to perform similar tasks such as sand blasting, polishing, and painting semi-trucks and trailers. These early work life experiences played a crucial role in shaping their strong work ethic, which they carry with them to this day.

In 2016, Ryan made a life-changing decision and relocated to Milwaukee, WI to work for the largest semi-trailer dealer in the country. His dedication and skills led him to win numerous awards, including the prestigious Great Dane King Pin award. Throughout the years, Ryan and Jarrod maintained a close friendship, and in 2020, an opportunity arose for Jarrod and his wife Lauren to join Ryan in Wisconsin. He was offered a position to solely manage a rental fleet of over 500 trailers, marking the beginning of their joint venture in semi-trailer sales and rental.

However, the unforeseen and life-altering Covid pandemic prompted Ryan and Jarrod to feel a strong desire to return to their roots in Indiana, where they could be closer to their loved ones. Upon their return, they established American Trailer Wholesalers in April 2023. Operating as consultants and brokers, Ryan and Jarrod successfully facilitated numerous high-quality deals involving transportation companies and dealers.

In just one year of operation, April 2024 brought a significant milestone for Ryan and Jarrod. They were able to acquire a nearly 5-acre property conveniently located off I-74 and State Road 244 in Shelbyville, IN. This acquisition allowed them to officially obtain their dealer's license from the state of Indiana. Although American Trailer Wholesalers is a relatively new company, the extensive knowledge and experience that Ryan and Jarrod bring to the industry surpass expectations. With an unwavering commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences, Ryan and Jarrod are excited about the future growth of American Trailer Wholesalers, aiming to establish it as one of the most reputable names in semi-trailer sales and rental.
